Feds reverse funding decision on Queensland flood recovery
The Insurance Council of Australia backed the Queensland government’s flood recovery program to rebuild homes, raise them up or relocate people from the floodplains.
Threatening to become a hot election issue, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has reversed his decision on contributing funding to the Queensland flood recovery accusing the state government of playing politics.

Carpark pledges return for 2022
Scott Morrison was in Wyong on the New South Wales Central Coast today to re-announce carparks for the region. Asked why they hadn’t been completed since the 2019 pledge he pointed to the ‘Gosford City Council’. The council actually became the Central Coast Council when it amalgamated with Wyong Council in 2016.
The Central Coast Council was placed in administration with councillors suspended in October, 2020.
In November last year, the PM was asked why documents to the car parks program was being blocked from the public.
Confrontations at press conferences
Despite the best efforts of their staff, political leader’s do come into confrontation from time to time. Prime Minister Scott Morrison confronted by a disability pensioner at the Edgeworth Tavern in Newcastle last night.
Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese was confronted by a man in Perth yesterday who said he wanted to ask a tough question.
Albanese confirmed this morning that the man was associated with the truck that was displaying the advertisement depicting Chinese President Xi Jiping voting for Labor.
In the pre-election period of the 2017 Queensland state election opposition leader Tim Nicholls was confronted by a taxi driver at a Cairns event.
