The #transitzone is currently producing a series of podcasts examining aspects of the evolving concept and practice of contemporary DEMOCRACY.
The Human Rights Law Centre is an Australian non-government organisation with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
As part of its remit, it’s running a campaign to bolster democratic vitality and practices in Australia.
As one part of that campaign, the Centre has released a report titled –Selling Out: How powerful industries corrupt our democracy
Of course, this is a very broad topic but the report focuses on three industries: the fossil fuels sector, gambling and the tobacco industry.
The report’s author is a senior lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre, Alice Drury. She discusses her report with Peter Clarke.
